More than 240 Think Bank employees will spread out to volunteer for 17 nonprofit organizations in the Rochester area on Monday, October 9th for our annual community-service event called “Think Gives Day.” All Think locations and our phone center will be closed to give every team member the opportunity to participate.
Media representatives are invited to one of our volunteer sites, Channel One Regional Food Bank (131 35th St. SE, Rochester) from 10 – 11 a.m. on October 9th. In addition to capturing inspiring footage of our volunteers’ impact at Channel One, media representatives will have the opportunity to interview Think employees and spokespeople from Channel One.
“Think Gives Day is one of the best days of the year for us,” says Alaine Westra, Think’s Vice President of Community Impact. “We love to come together as an organization to make our communities better places to live, work and play. We’ll be out there painting, cleaning, raking, packing and building, providing a total of more than 1,000 hours of community service.”
Around 30 Think employees will be volunteering at Channel One. Says Westra: ”We want to shine a light on the amazing work the organization does to strengthen food access and build healthy communities.”
Adds Virginia Witherspoon Merritt, Executive Director at Channel One: “We are so appreciative of the impact that Think’s volunteers will have on Monday. We are always in need of volunteers to pack boxes, sort food items and support the onsite food shelf. We love when large or small groups come to help in our warehouse – they’re always having a blast while being of service and making a difference!”
